Why Choose the All-Inclusive Program?

This is the best path to ensure success and avoid the traps and delays that derail so many applicants. Over 200,000+ contractors have trusted CSLS over the past 41+ years because we know what works.

The included State Application Preparation & Review is one of the most valuable services in this program. A single mistake on your CSLB application — a missing signature, incorrectly documented experience, wrong business entity information — can cause weeks or even months of delays. Your application gets rejected, you have to gather new documentation, resubmit, and wait again while jobs go to licensed competitors.

We help you structure your license for success from the start. Our team works with you on every section of your application before you submit it. With full cooperation between you and our experts, we catch the errors that cause rejections and ensure your documentation is formatted exactly how the CSLB expects it.

Classes are available at 25 locations throughout California or live online if you prefer to learn from home. Same instructors, same curriculum, same results either way.

Who This Program Is For

The All-Inclusive Program is designed for contractors who are serious about passing the first time and want everything handled. You don't need to research which materials to buy, which classes to take, or how to structure your study schedule — it's all included.

You'll need to meet the CSLB's experience requirement: 4 years of journey-level experience in your trade within the past 10 years, with at least 1 year as a journeyman, foreman, supervising employee, or contractor.

If you're looking for a different format: our Crash Course ($495) covers Law & Business only. Our Live Online Program ($695) offers live instruction from home. The Home Study Kit ($295) provides self-study materials. Compare all programs.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the whole process take?
Most students go from enrollment to licensed contractor in 4-8 weeks. You'll complete your Law & Business classes and review sessions, study with practice exams, take the exam, and complete bonding/insurance. The CSLB processes your license after that.
Can I take the classes online?
Yes. Our live online classes are the same curriculum taught by the same instructors. You participate in real-time, ask questions, and interact with other students — just from your computer. Recorded sessions are also available if you need to review.
What license classifications do you cover?
All 44 California contractor license classifications: General Engineering (A), General Building (B), and all specialty C licenses (C-2 through C-61). Each trade class is tailored to that classification's specific exam content.
What's different about this and the Crash Course?
The Crash Course ($495) covers only the Law & Business exam with 60 days of practice access. The All-Inclusive ($1,195) gives you 4 Law & Business classes, a full-day review, trade math, test-taking skills, construction math review, business formation seminar, plus all study materials (binders, videos, audio) and 6 months of practice exams. It also includes state application preparation and our 100% tuition money-back guarantee.
When and where are classes?
We hold classes at 25+ locations throughout California, typically on weekends (Saturday/Sunday) or weekday evenings. Check our locations page for upcoming dates near you, or call us and we'll find the next available session.
What if I need to reschedule?
Contact us at least 48 hours before your scheduled class and we'll move you to another session at no charge. You can attend at any of our California locations.
How does the money-back guarantee work exactly?
Attend all classes, complete the practice exams as directed, and follow the study plan. If you still don't pass the CSLB exam, provide your exam results and we'll refund 100% of the $1,195 program fee. We've honored this guarantee for 41+ years.
Do I need experience to take the exam?
Yes. The CSLB requires 4 years of journey-level experience in your trade within the past 10 years. At least 1 year must be as a journeyman, foreman, supervising employee, or contractor. You'll document this on your CSLB application before scheduling the exam.
Is financing available?
Contact us about payment options. Many students also use employer tuition assistance or business development funds. The $1,195 investment typically pays for itself within the first month of working as a licensed contractor.
Do you help with bonding and insurance after I pass?
Yes. We work with partners who specialize in contractor bonds and insurance for new California licensees. After you pass, we'll connect you with providers who can get you set up quickly and at competitive rates.
